Welcome! I am an Assistant Professor of Strategy & Entrepreneurship in the Management & Organization department at University of Washington, Foster School of Business where I teach the senior capstone undergraduate management course, MGMT 430: Strategic Management.
My research interests include behavioral strategy, innovation, and strategic decision making. Specifically, I study the cognitive mechanisms driving organizational search and organizations' positioning decisions. My work examines both the cognitive antecedents of these processes as well as the performance consequences.
I study these topics in a broad range of contexts including high-tech industries, restaurants, and sports, most often using natural language processing paired with econometric analysis. My research on these topics has been published in Organization Science and Strategic Management Journal.
Prior to academia, I worked in Planning & Strategy at Ford Motor Company and was an entrepreneur with a middle eastern focused food business. I earned my PhD in Strategy from University of Michigan, Ross School of business, graduated with my MBA in General Management and MS in Supply Chain Management from Indiana University, Kelley School of Business and my BS in Mechanical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University.
